Might want to restore the snapshot you booted from, reboot, update, and try again…

Some folks have been able to fix this issue (or similar) by setting up a sym link to point to the correct library.

It's generally better to either install the missing library or use the Steam runtime (rather than Steam Native) to get things running. Symlinks to system libraries are fragile at best.
