Hi guys!
Got a weird issue with Steam games.
I’m playing Arc Raiders right now and thought I’d set up my microphone to talk to people. Got the gear connected, but there was no indication of there being any audio input in the game.
I ran Steam → Settings → Voice → “Start Microphone Test” and noticed that the input indicator does not budge.
Did some looking around the Net, however most issues I found were about audio in general not working in Steam, which is not my issue - mine is only the microphone. People suggested installing pavucontrol, which I did. I could now see that when I ran the mic test in Steam, my mic showed up under the “Recording” tab, so it seemed that everything is fine, even if the indicator in Steam didn’t budge.
However, when I used the push-to-talk button in the game, no such thing happened, there was no audio recording marked in pavucontrol at all.
I also checked the Arch Wiki and - based on a warning there - uninstalled Steam (Native) and installed Steam, but that didn’t change anything.
I’ve no idea what else to try… I’d appreciate any help!
Cheers!
EDIT: just noticed the “reboot pending” in the output - yes, although that has nothing to do with the issue, I already rebooted a bunch of times between everything I tried and writing this post.
