Some extensions not enabling in Code-OSS

I have been trying to install several extensions to code-oss, the arduino package in particular, which includes platformio (experimenting with esp32-cam) and cannot get the extension to enable. The extension indicates "enabled globally", but can't find it and no icon in the toolbar. There a couple other extensions giving similar trouble. I can't find anything about it in this forum or anywhere else, other than some issues with code-oss lacking some extensions. I was sure this would be a known issue, but apparently not. The suggested solution on an Arch forum was to uninstall code-oss and install vsc through pacman. As I am not a MS lover by nature  , I'd like to get code-oss working with the extension, if possible.

What are you using, the flatpak?

The package code in the Arch repos is an open-source build. The proprietary version is only in AUR.

Never mind. Gave up and just went with the proprietary VSC. Worked out of the box.
