Slow boot time

Hi, Garuda is fine, good distro but there is one downside of garuda and that is slow boot. I used garuda-kde-lite months ago and it was just fine that time. however i installed it today again and the boot is very slow. I think this is because of btrfs and zstd( might be) .. but seriously btrfs by default and zstd is not beneficial. I never got my data curropted in ext4 ... ext4 is working perfectly from years for me. garuda claims to be only focused on performance but the starting point( boot time ) itself is extremely slow. I will request the developers to fix this issue. This issue have been raised by many before and is a serious issue. --- Garuda takes many seconds to show the grub bootloader.---
and while installing from a live media.. it not only takes time to show bootloader but also lags in bootloader while os is very smooth. KDE is very smooth .. (NOTE: i also have qtile edition and this issue also exists in qtile)

“You are on your own, we do not provide any support for KDE lite editions!”

Plus you’re missing your garuda-inxi anyway and this should be under the subcategory of unsupported software

haha i expected that. so i will raise another issue.. because i also have garuda qtile and the same problem exists in qtile also...so i think i need to raise an issue for the qtile edition?

This is not in control of Garuda developers. If you are not satisfied, install older versions of GRUB or switch bootloader.

This should be related to the notorious grub problem.
If you garuda-update, you will roll back to the previous grub package and then reinstalling the grub and update-grub should restore the situation.

how to do that ?

well this only happens in garuda linux and not other linux so...

i have used many distros and all rolling distros like garuda and i never had this problem in them.. so this might be in control of garuda...

garuda-update
grub-install
update-grub

This is a 100% upstream bug, and it has been recognized as the first severe bug for the GRUB package since a long time, so it makes really no sense to make comparisons with other distros in the past.

hey, thank you for the solution. but i would recommend to update-grub in the next releases just to avoid this problem... in the next release of isos it will be great to not get this problem....

For sure. That's the version in our repo, so it will be in the next releases.
