Sidebar panels rendering on top of search bar in FireDragon

Is this intended or is something broken? I prefer using the sidebar for split screen. since it’s far more convenient, it’s easier to switch between tabs in the split screen, and I can actually set its width and even close it temporarily if I need to.

As you can see, the most important part of the search bar is completely obscured and I can’t see any suggestion.

Without the side panel, it’s fine.

Do you get the same issue with Floorp?
Sidebar is from Floorp, we kept it unchanged. But who knows maybe a backend FD change affects it.

I believe the Sidebar usage is to be on top of things.

Huh, it does happen with Floorp…

So this is a thing FD can’t fix and instead I need to complain to Floorp?

Sadly yes for this type of element.
That being said, Floorp is very open to fix things if they agree it’s a bug. The thing to remember is their objective behind the Sidebar, I don’t know if it’s intended to be used as a split screen. They will tell.

If you open an issue on their github, plz post it here, I want to keep track of it and in case someone else lands here they will know where to go.

It looks like its a thing in floorp 12 beta. I don’t personally remember the address bar being there in any other version of floorp but i might have missed it

You might want to say you want it as a feature though so they keep it around or as a option. You could say it in discussions here an why GitHub - Floorp-Projects/Floorp-12

Also glad to see someone else enjoys a bottom address bar. :+1:

Not the same issue I’m referring to, especially since I’m using the release build of FireDragon and Floorp.

Also, did you check the Browser Manager Sidebar section in the settings? Might be something there about this.

Did end up making an issue on Floorp’s GitHub, and it turns out it’s only when the bar is at the bottom. It works perfectly when it’s at the top.

I should probably provide more feedback to make this feature less experimental and more actually supported, but I’m too lazy to do that :stuck_out_tongue:

oh i see it now maybe you have this set

its the last thing under lepton settings im not sure if it will help or not though

though it is fixed in 12

but you are right is broken in 11. Yeah can’t find anything in the about:config either they rewrote it for the new version.

Elabling/disabling that does nothing..? At least, not that I can notice.

Bug still persists, with or without the toggle.

I know it says the toolbar on the bottom of Floorp/FireDragon is experimental, and that is far from the only issue I’ve had with it at the bottom (for example, whenever I install a new extension. 90% of the time I need to disable the bar at the bottom to move it back to the top if I want to allow the extension to be installed).

I should probably report all of the issues I’ve had, but too lazy. I prefer it at the bottom because I’m a freak (if you didn’t notice the global Comic Sans), so I’ll just endure as is, it won’t be too much of an issue if I force myself to adapt.

Yeah its a full bug not much of anything can be done on the users end.

Ya i like the bar at the bottom as its where my mouse is more then the top. The extension bug is annoying it didn’t used to be there way back. You can use your modifier keys though to add and confirm the extension though. alt+a and Alt+o? or whatever the last one is.
Sadly it’s still like that in 12 so I think its just something we have to deal with. thankfully adding extensions isn’t a daily thing. At least I don’t see them fixing it anytime soon.
