Only in ultrawide (to tired to remake it in 4k) so its not in the competition.

I made this one for me then I though of making a garuda one. I also figured to share it because i’ll forget git’s cli commands if I don’t use it often.

There is one more of each version on my Gitlab with more birds

Just post it, you can also deliver it later, if necessary, when you’ve had a good night’s sleep

I should, I just feel I’ve posted a lot there. At least 10 wallpapers not including the small alts. I realize now I have a problem lol.

4K is not a requirement for submissions to the wallpaper contest. 1080p is fine, but higher resolutions would certainly be appreciated by those running 4K monitors. Please enter as many wallpaper as you’d like. You really can’t over contribute, any submissions are greatly appreciated. :+1:

4k is much easier to scale to 1080, as well slightly to uw depending on if it has pings/jpegs.
I spend most of the time figuring out what I want to cut out so it looks close enough. Upscaling leads to figuring out what to fill the space with or make everything just more zoomed in. But that’s more of a ocd issue with me haha.
But posted the 4k ones. :+1:

Made a new simple ultrawide wallpaper.

Homemade font is also a svg you can mess with.

I’ve been talking to a inkscape pay for features dev and now for two months I’ll be using nothing but it. It has a few thing I don’t like. So I apologize if the quality drops. My first test. A wallpaper that should have taken under a hour took 2 1/2 due to .eps files crashing on import but, had good music playing. XD

Since I kinda want to show a start to finish I’ll just update this post with the new art since I feel the quality wont be there yet. I also cant really scale things to 4k yet so if there’s ever one you want in 4k it will have to come later down the line.

Rename the extension of the file from eps to pdf. And inkscape import it as a PDF file. Or use ghostscript for conversion.

Did you mean 3840x2160 pixel format for 4 K?

Your image is, 3440x1440 px.
Today there are many screen sizes. I use just 1920x1080 px for Wallpapers, its easy to scale to 4 K then

The monitor in front of me has 2880x1800 px, all in all, it is not easy to fit the size for all screens

I normally manually increase the size of everything in the image to fit the more standard 3840x2160 then save it and use gwneview to go to 1080 or the art program if I don’t forget when exporting.
But for inkcape scaling, nothing of it works in a way I’m used too or understand. Everything is a few extra steps so I have to learn. So I make things in my native resolution and will practice with them later.
Ive used only ever used inkscape in the past to fix kde theming issues so everything is pretty foreign to me .

For the eps I used okuler to make it a .ps and imported it after some research but I will try the rename next time since the method I used was not with out its caveats. I did look into ghostscipt but I like to separate art from the tech side so I like to avoid cli or external gui tools if at all possible as it kinda breaks my train of thought XD.

I’m pretty sure one of my macs is 2880x1800 or close. So I might have to add that into the gitlab folders when making them.

Simply edit the value for the export file, width or dpi, no Gwenwiev necessary.

I can but it scales up incorrectly from 3440x1440 21:9 to 3820x2160 16:9 and back. 4k to 1080 is perfectly fine though. but when I make 4k ones I will do it as you suggested.
