And it smelled SO delicious!
I love the smell of burnt cheese in the morning.
It smells like Vermont Cheddar!
Do NOT feed cheese to your pets -_-
Hah! My parrot eats her weight in cheese every month.
i give cheese to my pugs whenever i have some myself lmao just not too much of it.
You are shortening her life span
Cheese is fine for most mammals, with these qualifiers:
- Itās a processed food, so itās easy to eat too much of it. Keeping in mind our pets are smaller and have lower caloric needs, keep it a treat.
- If your critter is lactose intolerant (most cats), donāt feed them any. Itās obvious how well they tolerate it, your nose will be first to let you know.
- Cheese is high in sterols, so our littlest pets (mice and rats especially) shouldnāt have cheese without daily exercise. (Neither should we, really, but meh.)
Edit/P.S. Seems itās similar for birds, cheese isnāt toxic for them, but just donāt over-do.
Yes, this information is correct, but knowing how MOST people are, and how MOST pets are, I still do not recommend cheese for the pets.
Just keep your stinkinā paws off my girlās cheese!
Odds are 50/50 sheāll outlive you. Especially if you touch her cheese. Parrots get real possessive.
Iāve had her (Amy) since she was a fledgling. Sheās 28 at this moment, nearly 29. Almost half of my life. We are bonded which may only make sense to other parrot-people. The odds are also that sheās probably near the average forum members age, and possibly more intelligent. Her vocabulary of several hundred words and songs is very subject-appropriate.
She even answers the phone in my wifeās voice, chattering away. Iām never sure who Iām talking with at first, my wife also being a chatterer.
And, truthfully, she doesnāt receive very much cheese even though itās her #1 favorite snack. Beans, pasta, fruits, nuts, and anything-Mexican are what she loves best. And fresh green beans. We try to avoid introducing anything harmful to her environment, especially aerosols. Lifespan in-captivity for her species is 80-100 years. She will outlive me.
Someone took them as tutorialsā¦
Yes, I had a neighbor, an old lady called Mirta that was a good friend of my late Grandmother. She had a parrot called Berta, she had her since her mid 30“s. She died at 83 years old, Berta still lives, but now with Mirta“s eldest daughter.
