Are you behind any firewall-like instance, possibly located in Iran? What about other packages?

Useless as it’s a Chaotic-AUR package.

I would suggest updating the file /etc/pacman.d/chaotic-mirrorlist with the .pacnew after the installation succeeded. The 416’s are caused by mirrors, that were offboarded (and not relevant to this threads topic).

So, I try copy and paste new mirrorlist and everything about it… when nothing helped I use Octopi, click down left to install button and all 166 packages was sucessfuly update (chaotic-mirrorlist-20231021-1-any too), so now I go restart laptop and try if everything startup :smiley:

EDIT: yep, use of Octopi for install that package helped, but I am confused, why Garuda assistent/System update dont want to download that package and when I use Octopi to install packages, it has that package downloaded and can update it…?! But problem is resolved :slight_smile:

Hey guys,
I got the exact same problem, but Octopi didn’t work too.
I tried to refresh mirrorlist, refresh keyring, clear cache (from octopi), reboot, etc…
What worked is that I followed the instructions from https://aur.chaotic.cx/, so i manually added the key and updated the mirrorlist (even tho the “refresh mirrorlist” in Garuda assistant should have done that ?)

That worked, I hope it helps :slight_smile:

The other packages downloaded fine. The problem is with chaotic-mirrorlist only. I tried octopi - no success. I tried editing mirror list through garuda-assistant - no success.
I didn’t try manual intervention from Elipsus post as I don’t fully understand what these commands are doing, do they conflict in any way with distro settings, can they be reverted fully and system upgrade is not an area where I’m comfortable experimenting with.

Today garuda-update managed to download quarter of the mirrorlist before failing. (That was one time thing: after that I tied to start garuda-update several times, it didn’t download anything)

Maybe use a VPN, seems your country block it.
I update all the day many DE’s and have no problems.

In the end I followed @Elipsus recommendations, which did solve the problem.
Also I checked(pressed “f3” in midnight commander) what it downloaded partially last time and it turned out to be HTML page describing 404 error(that probably would explain de-2-mirror.chaotic.cx : Exceeded the maximum allowed file size (3409) if similar error from the different server is formatted in a way longer than 3409). Whatever “it” is, is unclear (/var/log/garuda/garuda-update log doesn’t write full URL, only domains which are definitely not blocked)
