Obrigado

I’ll give my opinion
I use the gnome Garuda and it’s being top
The only problem is that they are using the pamac in the aur version which technically has the gnome interface is no Kde interface
I do not know if in the Kde version imported the pamac qt or if they use the pamac-aur or the octopi but is it 0edir too much for you to take the pamac-gtk and pamac-qt is to add to the official repositories of the linux garuda?
Thank you

I don’t know, worry, guys, is the text text only in Portuguese

You could always use Octopi if you want a Qt interface, the Qt version of Pamac is far from ready to be used as it is beta software at best.

Personally I would only use Pamac for browsing software from the repos. IMO if you want the least amount of problems with your system use the terminal for installations and all system updates.

I know everyone loves the pretty GUI’s, but for reliability the terminal is king. You can’t go wrong with Pacman.

I personally use Flatpaks for everything that that I can get in Flatpak, yay for individual programs I can’t get in Flatpak, Pamac for individual programs that yay can’t find, and Topgrade to do the update of everything. But like stated above one needs to find what they like and works for them.

Does Garuda KDE have problems with NVIDIA graphics ?

No, only kernel 5.8.2 dos not work with latest nvidia update, kernel 5.8.3 work fine with Nvidia 450.66

I think the one issue I was having with flickering was due to something to do with Conky. I linked to a article in one of my threads yesterday. After the 5.8.3 update I got the flickering back, so I went looking to disable Conky. I found a setting and unchecked it and applied, rebooted and no more flickering even though that setting didn’t disable Conky like I though it would.

Welcome

Spread how much you like Garuda.
Learn for yourself to get a good school leaving certificate so that you can study computer science and get along well.
Until then learn a programming language, Bash or whatever you like.
Have a look at everything here and you will see if you can help.

As SGS already mentioned start with learning bash. My bash skills are not great, but I can bluff my way through most things.

You will find very few of the people currently working on the project are IT professionals. Most were simply guys like yourself with a desire to learn how Linux works.

With the Internet you can learn all there is to know without taking full certification courses. However, if you want career in tech keep up your schooling.

Welcome to Garuda, and good luck in school.

Sadly enough, Indian University don’t care a darn about school leaving certificates or recommendation letters :pensive:

It doesn’t matter if the student is good at programming or knows a lot about data science, all matters at the end of the day is marks(score) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to get into good University/ College, even for cse. That’s why you won’t find much Indian developers, as proportion to population.

Nevertheless we can study along with development. It don’t much affect academics much, just stop watching tv or wasting time on yt, you can easily manage studies.

That is a rather sad commentary on your education system. It takes a special kind of boring to excel in those fields. What do you get when you cross breed a molecular physicist with a chartered accountant = Nothing. Both groups are too boring to attract a mate of the opposite sex.

To be honest, education policy is the only thing that I don’t like about India. I love everything else though.
But the things are changing, very gradually and even slower due to pandemic :disappointed_relieved:.
There are new institutes of national importance setting up, which will consider the marks(scores) of Computer olympiads/Computer subject. New Education Policy is also proposed but considering population, it will take at least 5 to 6 years to implement it.

Yes, that’s the point. And I was reading a story of a topper of the exam that decides admission in elite universities, and was a bit angry to know that after studying 1 year cse , he went to mit , usa to master Physics. I was really annoyed.

But I am really inspired by great personality who said

I only regard him and CEO of his company, in entire company he founded.
