Please let me know how can I resolve this. The monitor works just fine on windows 11.

Could you please be a little more descriptive? What issues are you facing with the external monitor exactly? Is it not being recognized/is it showing wrong resolution… etc. So a little description of your issue would be helpful.

It is connected but the screen is just black. Not displaying anything

Check with arandr or nvidia-settings in terminal.
Also check the monitor settings on the monitor, it’s on HDMI, DP or something else?
You got ā€œNo signalā€ message on monitor screen?

This is my nvidia-settings ( the graphics info section is empty)

arandr
find-the-command: ā€œarandrā€ is not found locally, searching in repositories…

This is what i get when i run arandr

Also, i’m getting a no signal message in my monitor when connected to hdmi.
One of my friends did something with the xorg.conf file i think and made it work so that only my monitor was being recognized and displaying but my laptop was not displaying anything at that time.

You must install with

sudo pacman -S arandr

Ask your friend or post the conf file.

ls /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/

as text.

Try to give a look here:

I don’t know why i’m not getting any HDMI ports here as well.

I tried this but since I am a beginner I really don’t want to mess things up. How do I exactly add it into the xorg.conf file or just a new file in the xorg.conf.d/ folder
