G'day guys,
Got a bit of an issue with my recent install of Garuda with xfce as my DE. Interestingly I had this problem on EndeavourOS with xfce as well. But as the title states, my second monitor refuses to display an image. Everything works fine on my Windows partition so I know that the monitor, cable and integrated graphics are fine on my computer. But it's just when I boot up Garuda, I'll get an image displaying on the second monitor, however when I get to the login screen it'll just be black, but I can see the cursor.
Taking screenshots shows both of the monitors displaying a normal screen (wallpaper, apps etc). I've tried going through xrandr arandr and just the normal display settings with no luck
Last bit of information is that my old endeavourOS partition used to work fine with no issues until I updated it and lost my second monitor, so I'm wondering if this is the same issue. Hard to say where the problem lies because both systems have been on arch, xfce and various kernels.
Thanks in advance for anyone that tries to help me out here. I'm really enjoying Garuda so far otherwise, I can finally play games on linux successfully for the first time

Trying to understand which exactly is the system behavior, these are not helping descriptions…
Which monitor? Both? Screen means all monitors, just for clarity.
XFCE display settings not able to configure monitors sounds odd, since your system report looks normal (the system can see both monitors).
Explain in detail what happens when you open xfce display settings, or arandr.
More objective info required.

Apologies for the inaccurate descriptions, I'm just a wee little newbie
By login screen going black, I mean the Samsung monitor (secondary monitor plugged into the motherboard and not the GPU)

Not sure what you mean by explaining what happens with display settings/arandr. Everything looks good in the settings. All enabled, correct locations, correct frequency

Sorry guys, I don’t mean to be a pest but this is the only issue stopping me from fully committing to Linux. I’ve tried so many options so I’m depending on you guys and the community to discover the solution to this.
Sorry, unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to help much here.
Something you could do would be to go through the Arch wiki, eg.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Multihead
and relevant related articles, eg. the ATI one.
There seems to be something missing in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/*.conf in my opinion.
Maybe you can test the suggestions from the wiki.

I, and others on the team do not use more than one monitor, so how exactly are we supposed to test and find a solution to your issue. The only one likely to be using your exact hardware is yourself. We are simply here to offer suggestions, it is incumbent on the user to troubleshoot and find their own solution.
This is not a Garuda specific issue if it presents on other distros, yet there seems to be the expectation here that it is our responsibility to solve this issue for you. That is your responsibility, not ours, (we are only here to assist).
I wish you luck finding a solution to your issue.

Have you tried a different kernel?
First fully update the system:
garuda-update
Install the kernel you want to try--install the corresponding headers, too:
sudo pacman -S linux-zen linux-zen-headers
Reboot, then on the grub screen (before the login screen) select "advanced options" and select your new kernel.
Another easy thing to try would be to download some of the other Garuda spins and boot into the live environment to see if the problem persists. I'm not saying switch DEs, I'm just saying that could be a good source for troubleshooting clues.
Have you tried unplugging the monitor (from power) for a few minutes? Have you tried unplugging the monitor (from the computer) and plugging it back in on a live system?

Maybe English is not your native language (neither is mine), but a translation tool can help you.
Just do as you are requested, not something else and we will eventually understand (although we don’t all have unlimited free time, so I myself prefer to spend it on technical support, not language translation ).
xrandr
You missed this one. We need this to compare with the similar one for prime.
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log
if the output of this, is what you have posted, then your system is seriously broken. Reinstall if that’s the case.
I don’t think you do as requested:
If you could realize what is good or bad (being a newbie, as you state), then you wouldn’t need help. Obviously, something wrong happens in front of your eyes and you can’t realize it. That’s why I did not ask what is wrong , but what do you see (not your interpretation ).
We are going slow, so don’t get anxious if you get a slow response…
