Hello everybody!
I just reinstalled my Garuda and I can’t see one of my SSDs (a nvme 1Tb SSD). I only can see:
sda1, sdb1, sdc1, and nvme0n1p2 (Garuda). But I have another one, nvme1n1 which I can only see in Disks manager (KDE Partition Manager), but not in Dolphin.
What should I do to bring my disk “online”?

The output shows that /dev/nvme1n1 is a disk with a partition table, but no partitions. If you want to interact with the disk in Dolphin, you will need to add at least one partition and format it with a filesystem.

Thank you! The disk is now “clean” totally formatted! I had before Garuda on it but now I installed Garuda on the main drive and the "empty is the second one (on my MB distribution slots). Could you tell me please what would be the most “common” or “useful” type of partition I should make. I intend to use that drive for general use as storage and also possibly future installation of various OS like Windows and Linux. But for a while I will only use it for storage proposes.

Try ext4. It is safe, reliable, and uncomplicated.

OK. Thank you very much! Best wishes!
Edit: I have now available on Dolphin with ext4 file system :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Just a side-note:

  • EXT4 is a well-established Linux standard and perfectly fine.

  • However, Windows can only read FAT, exFAT, and NTFS. If it’s a data partition, that might be better for compatibility (i.e. if you ever put the disk into a Windows machine).

  • BTRFS is used by Garuda for fast snapshot and recovery. Not necessary for a data partition, but worth considering if you use the drive as an extension of your main drive.

  • If you install Windows on it, it will be NTFS, but the installer will take care of that.
