Scanner not recognized with brother

Good morning

I start on Garuda which I find excellent!!
my question I have a brother printer in network DCPL 2530DW
The printer works well, however the integrated scanner is not recognized
can you help me and tell me as a beginner how to do it

Hello,

You have to install sane and brscan4.
Then you can try this command

brsaneconfig4 -a name=MFC-L3730CDN model=MFC-L3730CDN ip=000.00.00.00

Change and adapt the model of your printer and the ip adress.

Then, download the correct driver install tool four your model in the brother support page, and unzip it in your /home for example.

After that run this command

bash linux-brprinter-installer-2.2.2-2 MFC-L3730CDN

Adapt the name of the file and the model of your printer.

And normally your are done. :innocent:

But since you have TL3, feel free to do it yourself. Click on the pen and enter the category in the search box or scroll there.

well i am very beginner
my printer is the brother dcp -l 253dw
it includes a scanner
could you give me very simple command line

(sorry if I am getting a bit off topic)
I usually do move threads like these (and do a lot of re-organizing moving things to proper sub-sections), just that I don’t think the template would be seen if I just simply move it from a category like “Garuda Community”. Maybe I could copy a new thread template from the “Issues & Assistance” section to my post after I move it? Would that be acceptable?

[Brother HL-L2390DW] my ip = http://10.0.0.26/general/status.html
gets me to printer login interface. I have it on wifi on my LAN.
Hope this helps.

Hello,

The command should be

brsaneconfig4 -a name=DCP-L2530DW model=DCP-L2530DW ip=192.168.1.16

The link to download the driver install too for your model is https://www.brother.ch/fr-ch/support/dcp-l2530dw/downloads

And then follow the instructions given in my last post...

Unzip the downloaded file

gunzip /home/YOURUSER/linux-brprinter-installer-2.2.3-1.gz

Then

bash linux-brprinter-installer-2.2.3-1 DCP-L2530DW

Be sure you have installed Sane and Xsane...

thank you for your help I'm a beginner...windows is easier
then I have copied in the terminal the command line that you made that returns:
-a name=DCP-L2530DW model=DCP-L2530DW ip=192.168.1.16
find-the-command: "brsaneconfig4" is not found locally, searching in repositories...
find-the-command: command not found: "brsaneconfig4"
the sane software launches but it finds nothing...
on the other hand the printer only works but not the scanner alas!!

I confirm that sane and xsane are installed by launching it the scanner is not recognized

Desolé, j'ai oublié de préciser
Il faut installer brscan4, dispo sur aur, avec la commande yay si le paquet est installé, ça devrait passer.

En root

pacman -S yay

En user

yay brscan4

Ensuite relancer , toujours en user, la commande

brsaneconfig4 -a name=DCP-L2530DW model=DCP-L2530DW ip=192.168.1.16

Ca devrait le faire :innocent:

No need, yay is linked (alias) to paru, and paru is installed by default.

heu j'hesite mais bon

existe 'il un programme qui fonctionne comme time machine (mac)

parceque il y ya des trucs mais mal fait je trouve pas ergonomique du tout
