Samsung Display Brightness changes to 9 after inactivity

Hey people. I have installed Garuda Linux Dragonized Edition 3 days ago. And I have a problem. After some time of inactivity my primary monitor (Samsung C32JG5x @144hz),'s brightness turns to exactly 9. I have tried to check the settings, this forum, Google and different AI’s to try to help me. Nothing worked, so this and Reddit will be my last resort. For clarification, I do not have Eye Saver Mode or any Brightness changer mode as it works perfectly fine on Windows 10. Here is the inxi thing:

You may think I’m petty, but, as you’ve probably read in the template, it asks for the garuda-inxi .
Please format the output with (</>) or put three tildes (~~~) in the line above and below the text.

Thank you for your understanding

Hey, thank you. I am sorry for that, just changed it. (Also, yes. I did only do a partial system update because it cant download the repositories even though my internet is around 170Mbps)

I sometimes have a download speed of 170Kbps (LTE router). That’s why I increased the timeout to 5 seconds. If it still times out, I repeat the update until everything is complete.

Ooh okay, where do I change the timeout?

Good question! I don’t remember and have to do my own research

Open Garuda WelcomeRefresh mirror server list. At the bottom right you will see the option: Download timeout in seconds.

Hey, there is no “Refresh mirror server list” in Garuda Welcome, I checked everywhere.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that in Garuda Welcome you have to open the Garuda Assistant first.

Oh, I found it! Thanks! I also fully upgraded my system now (No longer partial), and I changed the display brightness to 85 again, and if it changes to 9 again I’ll reply.

My full upgrade did not fix anything, it made it worse. It sets my brightness on 1 after inactivity now.

Maybe you can find a way to update the BIOS.

Please try running in a x11 session and see if it continues

I really do not want to risk my BIOS being bricked

I did sudo xinit but then my screen went gray and nothing worked, I restarted my PC now

At login in the bottom left there is an option to switch to an x11 session or wayland?

I’m navigating with keyboard shortcuts, since now I can’t move my mouse to my other monitor, how do I fix this??

Can also be changed in the KDE settings.

Wdym? I just logged out and in the X11 session it worked with my monitor but I still can’t move my mouse, what do I do? how do i get that fix in my plasma DE?

Is the mouse activated?

Edit: By the way, your system is quite old. Maybe you should try one of the LTS kernels offered.
