This is one of those things that has kinda confounded me for a bit. So, I was setting up Roblox for my kids recently only to find out that Roblox doesn’t offer linux support. More importantly they have even removed all wine support; it seems that playing through wine was allowing players to glitch/cheat somehow. So as far as I know there is no direct way to play Roblox on linux.
Now, it wasn’t the end of the world as I was able to install it on android tablets for them. This however begs the question, why no linux? Android after all as I understand it is a modified linux kernel. Which makes me wonder why there isn’t a just a linux installer for Roblox? It just seems that the lionshare of the work would already be done for such a thing.
I was just curious if anyone else has thoughts on this.
You might be able to install the apk with the android translation layer tat coming to chaotic if its not already there. I cant say it will work but yea.
I would also recommend not buying EA games as they are also adding there own anti cheat with no linux support case, Yeah the 1% hurts them.
Although it’s closed-source (as they don’t want people developing exploits for it) and unfortunately a Flatpak, I would check out Sober, made by the Vinegar team. I try to avoid Flatpaks personally, but it works EXTREMELY well. It uses an x86-64 build made for Android devices, so it doesn’t have Hyperion. I WILL warn warn that this isn’t really something officially supported by Roblox, but I highly doubt you’ll be banned.
Also, Garuda Linux devs don’t recommend Flatpaks. It’s all at your own risk, really. Just make sure to know what you’re doing.
I did just install this on my laptop, and let the kidlets try it out… they are literally bouncing off the walls after playing on PC… I don’t get the difference, but I guess it’s viable option for Roblox players using Linux. Thank you for pointing that out to me.
I wasn’t really looking for this solution either, I was honestly just curious if anyone else had found this to be strange for the aforementioned reasons?
