Will be easier for users to run update manually without opening rani or terminal to update their system.
Garuda maintainance tray icon has setting and quit button on right click. would like to see update button on top of it.
I consider this an unnecessary accessory.
The easiest way to update is by left-clicking on the Konsole.
I don’t know, there may be some merit to this suggestion. I could see it being more straightforward for newbies.
My apologies if i offended anyone. was just looking for something similar to pamac tray icon with update button like in manjaro.
Right clicking the update button from the garuda maintainace tray menu directly opens the default terminal running garuda-update command with password prompt.
it was just suggestion. thanks for this wonderful distro anyway. i love it.
I think its a good idea. Cachyos has a similar update icon. It may be “unnecessary” but i think its useful to linux newbies and will encourage them to run garuda-update rather than something else.
I could see it being useful. tbh it doesn’t need to check for packages and add a indicator for new pkgs as its arch. but the left click to update or right click would be a welcome add on. It can open up the terminal like rani and garuda assistant did.
update core keyring and prompt to apply hotfixes tick boxes doesnt work in the tray menu.
Thanks for the report. Those buttons should actually be removed, since those features are standard features of garuda-update now.
