hey guys, i need some help here
i’d like to have some shadowreplay kind of saving short 30sec clips, but when i google to find something, im lost a bit helpless

first, i found about replaysorcery, what is even clickable to install in garuda gamer, so i tried that, but after entering password it seems nothing to happen

(the box wont check either) and i cannot find its config like provided here (is it another wayland thing or what is happening?)
(and i cannot find it in octopi)

then i searched more and found about gpu_screen_recorder
but when i try that in octopi it delivers this prompt

i know about obs, but on the one hand, it was way to bloated and clunky for that use of capping small clips,
on the other hand it doesnt load anymore either, but since im going to need it for editing, im going to make a seperate topic for that anyways

my question here is, how to make replay sorcery running in garuda or do you have any other program you could recommend for capping the clips?

PS: i also know about the new steam recording what would be a pretty easy solution, but when i activate that, games wont open at all :confused:

replay-sorcery is in the AUR, use paru in the terminal to install or press the green alien button in octopi to search the AUR.

Maybe a bit out of scope for what you are looking for but…

Why not to record via STEAM? Steam has a feature to record gameplays and can be configured, its a native feature they provide. You can run even non steam games via Steam and try to take advantage of that feature.

oh sorry, i didnt get it was the same issue :sweat_smile:

indeed replay-sorcery is now installed, i found the config, changed the targetfolder to /run/media/wirr/Vol V/rec clips/ and the hotkeys to ctrl+shift p, saved that, launched the app, launched the game, pressed ctrl+shift p, and nothing happend, no notification, no files in that folder, something i did wrong again?

well, yes, you are right, i did read the part about wayland and hardwareacceleration only, but not the nvidia is only allowing the softwareaccel… :sweat_smile:
