When I installed proton GE from Garuda gamer, originally it installed the “proton-ge-custom” package from the AUR. However, said package seems to no longer exist, instead being replaced with “proton-ge-custom-bin” package.
When did this change happen? I can just replace the package with the newer ‘bin’ variant. I just wanted to ask if Garuda gamer can install the newer variant automatically. As the non bin variant is quite outdated at this point, and I just noticed it. If the package gets deleted, and then one tries to reinstall it through Garuda gamer it just fails saying the package no longer exist.
I also noticed a similar issue mentioned in the forums:
https://forum.garudalinux.org/t/proton-ge-custom-not-in-the-aur-or-chaotic-aur-anymore/41695
Where it is noted that the bin package has not been added to the chaotic-aur repos due to a bug. However, a little heads up from garuda system maintenance would be nice to replace the old package manually.
