How do you add google as an option to the FireDragon search engines? Ive looked on the Garuda linux forum, the wiki, and the github/gitlab pages for FireDragon but I haven't seen anyone talking about this yet.

Go to settings and click default search and select google

Sorry should have mentioned in the search tab in FireDragon, google is not listed as an option for a search engine

If you open about:config you'll find an entry
browser.policies.runOncePerModification.removeSearchEngines
with values
["Google","Bing","Amazon.com","eBay","Twitter"]
so you could try removing Google there

Go a bit further down and add search engine from scroll dowm search shortcuts

So I found the Mycroft project and added a search engine called !google which I believe is just like regular google but whenever I try to look something up I get an error saying secure connection failed

From the linked Librewolf FAQ anyway:

Please note that some search engines, most notably Google, do not comply with the OpenSearch standard so you will not be able to add them the usual way. In that case, you can also check The Mycroft Project for an alternative source of search engine plugins.

Anyway, I think here we’re going against the actual philosophy of Firedragon, being a privacy-oriented browser. So I, for one, give up investigating further…
