So I just simply wanted to refresh my mirrorlist (Reflector simple). After ratings complete you should save it at /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist. Doing so I get each time:

reflector-simple: info: reading file /etc/reflector-simple-tool.conf
reflector-simple: info: reading file /etc/reflector-simple.conf
pkexec must be setuid root
Press enter to exit

How to fix that? And what's "pkexex', while I can't find it? I'd like to handle that also because during system update I receive warning (nothing a big deal but I just don't like it and would love to get rid of):

Thank you in advance!

Try

garuda-update

Well, I don't have problem with system update (it's going fine even with warnings). But the problem is I'm not able to add a new mirrors. Each time it's the same. I'm not able to change it and keep permanent.

Can you try

garuda-update

or is that a old inxi

then provide

garuda-inxi

Can you provide the output of

sudo pacman -Syu

Seems like you removed the setuid bit from pkexec for some reason. You probably read one of those posts related to pkexec's security vulnerability and ran the "fix" command, which ruins pkexec.

A simple reinstall should fix this: sudo pacman -S polkit

Reinstalling polkit fixed problem with setuid bit. Thank you for that!
I have checked history and I wasn't able to find any command which consisted polkit or pkexec words. So not able to explain why it happened to me.

Ok so that part partially is done. How about mirror list. After choosing and saving a few countries shouldn't them be again checked in next approach of modification? By that I mean that after opening a list I see:

and it's always the same. Why I don't see Germany, Latvia, Austria, Switzerland etc marked down as well, while those countries was previously assigned? Or my understanding is wrong and that's correct behavior?

Sure. Previously was ok. After reinstalling polkit and reassigning mirrorlist I get:

System updated! 🐧

As you see there are some errors and warnings. In the end it said that system is updated, but why during updating those warnings are presented?

Here my permissions :

╭─zawier@zawier in ~ as 🧙 took 4m11s
╰─λ ls -ld /usr/bin
drwsr-xr-x - root 19 lut 12:42  /usr/bin

╭─zawier@zawier in ~ took 3ms
╰─λ ls /usr/bin/sudo -all
.rwsr-xr-x 211k root 2 lut 09:02  /usr/bin/sudo

Warning = ignore :slight_smile:
Error = Only if you have this hardware, investigate more.

Ah, ok I see. Thank you for explaining.
BTW. Should I use from now on garuda-update or pacman -Syu command? Are they matter which one is picked up? From the beginning I was always using upgrading from pacman.

Please also lets go back to mirrors with reflector-simple.

Roger that! Thank you!

And what about mirrorlist?

Check

cat /etc/xdg/reflector/reflector.conf
File: /etc/xdg/reflector/reflector.conf
# Reflector configuration file for the systemd service.
#
# Empty lines and lines beginning with "#" are ignored. All other lines should
# contain valid reflector command-line arguments. The lines are parsed with
# Python's shlex modules so standard shell syntax should work. All arguments are
# collected into a single argument list.
#
# See "reflector --help" for details.

# Recommended Options

# Set the output path where the mirrorlist will be saved (--save).
--save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

# Select the transfer protocol (--protocol).
--protocol https

# Select the country (--country).
# Consult the list of available countries with "reflector --list-countries" and
# select the countries nearest to you or the ones that you trust. For example:
# --country France,Germany

# Use only the most recently synchronized mirrors (--latest).
--latest 5

# Sort the mirrors by synchronization time (--sort).
--sort age

Everything exactly the same.

Edit to

--country France,Germany,Poland,Brazil # and what you like.

Or

sudo reflector --country Germany --latest 5 --age 2 --fastest 5 --protocol https --sort rate --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist && cat /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist && sudo pacman -Syu

File: /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
