I think SDDM somehow messed up something else that is preventing lightdm from running. 
Lightdm is stuck on the same screen sddm was stuck in. cant open a tty or anything

I looked on some other threads and a lot of people are suffering the same problem.
I disabled sddm.service but it is still not letting me get to a tty? Disabling splash from boot also doesn't help. I think I would have to reinstall and format $HOME directory. If it is a sddm problem then disabling sddm should help right?

Well, to solve my problem I had to reinstall garuda and also format the home partition. Its fixed now. Just have to reinstall all my applications and stuff.
