Rant about missing list of differences between the many versions of Garuda

Well of course, as Greek culture predated the Romans, they probably plagararized one of your even older sayings.

Goes without saying. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I love Idioms from all over the World.
Apart from the many Chinese wisdoms, I have established an Indonesian idiom in my german family and friends: sedia payung sebelum hujan!
Approximate meaning: think of the umbrella before it rains.

Most definitely. We “Romans” feel strong that origin.

We "German barbarians" too.

We "Amaricans with a gun loaded with freedom in our pocket" too.

I am reassured.

Did you know that "Hamburger" is the name for a resident of a north German city?

The exact origin of the word "Hamburger" is not known. What is certain is that the first syllable "Ham" has nothing to do with the English-language "Ham" (German ham). Rather, it was derived from the acronym for fried minced meat (English hamburger steak), which Hamburg immigrants introduced in the 19th century. This was also confirmed by an American dictionary of etymology. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry Without the emojis I forgot to put, my comment sounds provocative. It was not intended that way.

Thank you for delicious humor.

Okay guys first of all I apologize. I didnt even expect any replies and my "rant" wasnt really meant to be taken that seriously but somehow it attracted quite the attention. The last line was completely honest though I appreciate your contribution deeply. And I just noticed that when you click on the version you actually get an explanation if that feature was always there Im an Idiot. When this was just implemented a few hours ago. DAMN my utmost respect that was fast! Maybe I ellaborate a bit why I even posted this so maybe some of you get where Im coming from: Id consider myself as a pretty advanced user with tech in general. My phone is custom romed and not really recognizable as android any more. My notebook is 4 boot with windows hackintosh manjaro and openbsd/truenas. Never really got into Linux that much until Corona hit and since then I fully dove into Linux and opensourc, Distrohoping every week or so. And now comes the part why I was bothered enough to write this "rant". This bothered me all along Garuda was just the Distro I was about to install over Manjaro and I had enough so Garuda unfortuanlly got hit. There is such amazing software and little tools/tweaks for Linux out there which took a lot of effort to code...but a documentation is basically non existent. Lets take Zorin OS for an example because I think its actually laughable because they want to get payed for their ultimate edition. Whats in the edition comparison? I quote "The best business & media apps, Over 20 games, Zorin Installation Support" I mean excuse me? Couldn't find any clearer explanation in like half an hour so I simply torrented it and installed it in a vm. It was surprisingly hard to find the current version anywhere and took quite some time but in the end it was downloaded and installed in a vm in less time. I mean they're trolling right? They want to get paid 40 Euros for these features and they dont list them easily findable. A few software examples: Nvidia Optimus Switchable Graphiphs, I forgot its name but it was a tool to add virtual 7.1 surround sound to linux, I tried to add a virtual Screen for VNC gave up after 2 days. Tried to set a custom unsupported resolution...same story then theres Latte Dock git which is basically unfindable and dont get me started on some of the flysystem modules without even a readme at all. And its just so frustrating because you know that whatever problem you got its solveable under Linux. Sometimes you got the solution right before your eyes but cant get it to work due to proper documentation. Ill come to an end so basiacilly Im frustrated and heartbroken at the same time that theres so much amazing software out there not getting the recognition its suppossed to due to some minor easable fixable obstacles the average user just cant or want to overcome. Like I was getting Garuda no matter what and have the time on hand installing every edition in a vm first to compare. But I think a lot of people see the Downloads page cant see what edition they should take and just go to another Distro which is a real shame. So yeah thanks for reading my ramblings and to all the Devs your doing amazing work keep it up I didnt want to attack anyone personally I guess its sometimes hard as a Dev to see things out of the eyes of the user <3 Ahhh and to the guy telling me to get lost and that im contributing nothing...IM TRYING TO CONTRIBUTE thats the thing but I wasnt able to pick the right edition for my usecase.

You should edit your text one more time by adding a few paragraphs.
This increases the readability significantly.

It only works for the Dragonized editions

Will do! Already wrote 300 pages to elaborate my point further will be available as a hardcover in store as soon as Im able to find a publisher. But in all seriousness I felt the need to explain that I didn't meant to insult or discredit anyones work and that Im sorry that I unintentionally attacked so many.

Actually that's what I'm trying to fix. Garuda Wiki is slowly expanding, and there is Garuda Manual planned for offline use.
