Random applications starting without my input

I’m running hyprland and use customized config files for hyprland based on Hyprdots

Recently I’ve observed some instances of applications starting without my input, or any scripts being called by any action of my system. The applications in question were:

  • tunnel
  • ray

both of these applications were created by David Bucciarelli and the applications would restart immediately after I killed them. I “fixed” the problem by deleting the binaries from /usr/bin where tunnel was present four times and ray twice.

Are these applications included in the base Hyprland image and what purpose do they serve?
I searched around the net, but couldn’t find anything useful other than a demo video of ray and the source code for tunnel.

I never seen those. I don’t know where you got them from but you could at least have passed them to ChatGPT to figure out what they do.
