Question about garuda gaming edition batterylife

is Garuda good as daily driver overall ?

I will install garuda gaming version asap but have a question.

Someone said zen kernel / garuda sucks at battery /power management is it true?
Since I’m a student i need battery charge to last long.

They also said if i Install TLP + auto-cpufreq then it will be better.

The famous XY problem. If you are a student, you should not play around, but study.
By the way, the question is not new, and I ask you as described in the template to consult the forum search or the net before making new posts.

In short it depends.

And, at least, one Problem per thread.

Someone said I am famous, so, what can we do with this information?
Right, forget it.

If it really is the case that the Zen kernel consumes much more battery power, which I don’t think it is, then you are free to install and use one of the many other kernels available. E.g. Linux-LTS kernel, Linux-Mainline kernel, Linux-Hardened kernel, CachyOS kernel, etc. etc.

in kde there’s a nice shortcut meta+b it will change the current power profile so set it to power save 90% of the time in settings.

Then tap meta(windows key) + b when your gaming or need the power. other stuff you can do is a cpu tool like you said. can also get lact for the gpu side. an it will swap with the power profiles. Rest is just normal stuff you do on any os well windows, osx has pretty much got battery life down.
