Python2 upgrade/install error test fail

Hi all,

been experiencing error when trying to upgrade/install python2 2.7.18-8 (2.7.18-5) AUR
it goes all the way to the end and then it runs through a whole bunch of tests and one test fails so it aborts. Any idea how to skip the tests or make this test pass?

Report that to the AUR package, that is not our issue. AS a recommendation, use a docker container instead for python2.

Any idea how to skip that last test?

Just skip the tests in general if that's what you want, but, as I said, that is not a Garuda issue.

you are no help my friend, you assume I know how to do all these things. If I knew I wouldn't be asking here. I find your dismissive attitude a tad rude tbh. Yeah I got that this is NOT a GARUDA issue but am I not allowed to ask for help in general in these forums?

If you don't know, see PKGBUILD - ArchWiki and Arch User Repository - ArchWiki, you will learn what you need there. And, it's a Garuda forum for Garuda-specific issues.

Take it as you want, but if you don't know how to do something and don't research by yourself, then people tell you what to read to learn and you still didn't cooperate, you're the problem, good luck.

Thanks for staying civil, mate. Have a nice day :trophy:

No one is trying to bully you, edu4rdshl is just pointing out that this isn’t the right place to ask for help with this issue. You don’t go to a bike shop for a TV repair, right?

By the way, something might be wrong with that package:

That is the latest comment on the page for the package: AUR (en) - python2

Better to get off of python2 altogether it looks like: Arch Linux - News: Removing python2 from the repositories

If anything, edu4rdshl’s comments were very helpful I thought–he even found the relevant helpful documentation.

Next time, be nice or don’t use the forum please.
