Proxy blocking

Hello,

I want to install a software with Wine. But I have a problem to activate the software license. The Proxy settings seem to block the activation.
I installed windows with Virtualbox, and I managed to install and activate the software on Windows. I don't think the problem is the router, but probably a Garuda.

Any ideas?

So there is nothing wrong with your connection because if you ran Windows on Garuda, your Windows network will be routed over Garuda. Check tweaks for this application on appdb.winehq.org

There is nothing on this application. It is not in the list

If we are talking about the same application (EdgeProX, apparently a trading application) it has Linux version.

Yes, but it's a .deb
I couldn't install it on Garuda ArchLinux

.deb is for Ubuntu ?

.deb is for Debian or Ubuntu. Also I couldn't find EdgeProX on Arch repos or AUR. Very interesting.
You can use distrobox or a similar technology to use different distros in container without leaving Garuda.
IMO what you are experiencing is a Wine issue, which may be harder to resolve compared to using Linux build.
If you really want to use Wine, you can send me install logs and terminal output of running this app on Wine. I can check if there is an obvious missing dependency, but I am not so knowledged.

No, ideally I don't want to use Wine.

But I don't know how to install a .deb on Garuda. I would like to keep only Garuda

distrobox sounds like an interesting method. how does it work?

I don't know how to setup but the main idea is that you run another Linux OS with the same kernel and some nice integrations.

I installed distrobox with Octopi, but I don't know what to do next?
Distrobox does not appear in the list of Garuda applications. How do I launch the .deb installation afterwards?

Ok, I did it, beautiful!

Here is the solution:

Open the Terminal
write the command :
paru -S dpkg

proceed to the installation : Yes

Write the following command:
sudo dpkg -i and drag and drop the .deb file afterwards. This will give something like this:
sudo dpkg -i /home/myname/downlaods/program.deb

and validate

and the program will be directly installed.

Here is the link of the Youtube video of the explanation

This is a terrible idea - you’re now mixing two package managers, neither of which knows about the other. Expect file conflicts in your future!
