Proton Pass Copy/Paste Not Working

Hello,

I’m attempting to solve an issue with Proton Pass on Garuda. Frankly I’m not sure if it’s an application issue or OS one. I’ll reach out to Proton if there’s nothing I’m missing on the OS side.

When running Proton Pass desktop application you can click on field and it copies the content to the clipboard. The plugin on Brave works fine, but not so much on the desktop application.

I’ve confirmed checking the clipboard isn’t receiving the data by checking the history and also confirmed there is no auto clear of the clipboard currently turned on in the desktop application.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Reboot completed. Same result. It may indeed be an application issue as I do see issues in the rating/review section of the Flatpak store. Which I do realize isn’t technically supported, but a vast majority of application have functioned thus far.

At one point I did see Garuda requesting for permission to be granted for copy/paste in another context (that being copying from Brave to a Steam game running on Proton [not related to Proton Pass]). So I wasn’t sure if I got that in this instance and missed it some how.

Should I try installing a version from another location? I did see an Arch distro on Snapcraft (never used it before) but don’t want to load up on distribution services. I’ve also been skeptical of the AUR option especially for a password manager.

What exactly did you copy and where you want to paste in Garuda?

It works fine here to copy

and paste in Firedragon and Joplin.
Same from this icon

Ähm, I just use https://mail.proton.me and from there you can open all the tools you need.

I created a quick screencast to show the issue. I may just resort to the Brave Plugin or Web App as you’ve suggested.

Link removed

I do not open links
We do not support Proton or Brave, just check with Firedragon.

Completely understand! Was trying my best to demonstrate what I was seeing

I’ll stick to the web app and plugin until the desktop app is worked out on their end.

Thank you for the help and loving the OS so far.

I tested it in a VM (flatpak version), in an x11 session it works if you click on the “copy to clipboard” button - looks like the app is not working properly with wayland. Switch to an x11 session and test whether it works there.

Its cause it uses old electron. Honestly better to make all the main ones you use into web apps with something like. AUR (en) - webapp-manager then it just acts like a app an you never have to think about it again.
