Problems on google sites (youtube & google.com)

EDIT: the problem seems to occur in chromium as well, so it’s not isolated to firedragon anymore. If anyone else is experiencing this, I guess here’s a thread to try to find out why

Good evening! hope you’re having a good day!

My problem is as follows. Today, out of nowhere, Firedragon started misbehaving on youtube, by crashing the videoplayer after approximately 1 minute, and failing to search on google, by failing to contact the domain google.com at all. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Keep in mind, I didn’t modify my firedragon install between it “working” and it not working.

✅ System health check passed. No issues found.

Are you using adblockers? Youtube has been quite aggressive in fighting them recently, often causing deliberate delays and technical issues for clients using them.

If this is not limited to YouTube, I would check network connectivity in general. Meaning, try LAN instead of WIFI, exchange the cable, compare with another device when the issue occurs to see if it affects the entire network of just your PC.

The problem has solved itself it seems. maybe this happened on google’s side.

I don’t want to needlessly necro this thread, but this problem did happen again, and I found out that it most likely was cludflare’s DNS for some reason, so I’ll put this response as a true solution and hopefully none of you come across this error!

I had the same problem for few days. I discovered the problem was the extension “CanvasBlocker”. I disabled it and now everything runs well.
