Problem with the latest ISO

ISO: KDE DRAGONISED GAMING
I had a different problem with the latest ISO. Black screen on first boot after installation. Constant validation failed from Balena itcher (on multiple thumb drives and multiple re-downloads). Installed with rufus; Black screen on first boot. Installed with ventoy; Black screen on first boot. There are multiple threads on fixing black screens, but none addressed my issue.

Only clue I got was the the display driver might be the issue. I boot with Nvidia drivers in live installation, and I didn't see Nvidia settings in the live environment of the latest ISO (KDE Dragonised Gaming).

Thankfully I had an ISO from October 2022 in my archives and used that. That one did have the Nvidia settings in live environment. Was surprised that it actually updated the system after installation.

Maybe someone can check and see if the latest ISO is broken?

There is a button to download a checksum file for the iso. Download that and compare it to the checksum of the ISO: sha256sum -c <checksumfile> <iso> (iirc)

If it's just the validation failing at the end, you thumbdrive might be on the way out.

KDE Dragonised gaming

All four thumb drives failing together?
I’ll check the check sum

If you search in forum, say wrote, install KDE, install games later.

Just for information:
You can download also the lts version from
https://cloud.garudalinux.org/s/mrgSgCpayxJQj9p
if you have problems with nvidia GPU.

Hopefully it’s not too late to ask, but are you able to provide screenshots of both the missing drivers section (where it should have been) and the same screenshot with drivers from your 2022 ISO?

New ISO:

Old ISO:

I made sure I launched both with Nvidia drivers.

EDIT:
Also, initializing the Display Driver also took a long time in old ISO. The following pic is of the OLD ISO.

1 min and 50 secs this time, compared to 40 secs in the new ISO

Try without those and reinstall them afterwards.
