Problem with Running Dota 2

Hi, i'm new on this distro(Not that much a newbie, as i've been running Linux on my Pc for quite some years now), and been running it for quite some hours... Been enjoying it a lot tho, but something is bothering a bit(And it's something i haven't experienced on other distros), and that is Dota 2, on steam, not launching at all(I tried other games, and they run just fine, so i think its only with this game)...I tried a lot of things, from different launch options, to different settings on the various Garuda softwares, from differente kernels, packages, and the results still the same. Would appreciate a lot if anyone could help me(Especially as this issue is not something i got a lot of answers about, searching all upon the net... The only thing i got was about a solution that i tried out, deleting the "cfg" folder, and "recreating it", which got me to nowhere new, unfortunely)

If anyone need, heres the terminal output for trying to run it on my PC(Specs are pretty low, its a I5-2350M with an HD3000, 6gb Ram, running the Garuda KDE gaming edition):

Try reinstalling the game if above doesn't works

Tried all of that,to no avail, unfortunely(And i tried reinstalling, as i even downloaded another version of the distro, the wayfire one, to see if it was something i did wrong when creating the usb stick), so idk, really

It seems like there are some similar issues posted on protondb https://www.protondb.com/app/570

I would try using some different runners. DOTA 2 is a native Linux title, so I am surprised that it does not work.

I was going to say that perhaps newer libraries on Arch could be the problem, but that’s not how steam works. Valve tries to cram as many libraries as they can into their software so that they can control when they are updated for compatibility. They basically create a Linux system within your Linux system to run games on.

I’m not sure if this is exactly your entire problem, but this error

ERROR: ld.so: object '/home/balanar/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_64/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64): ignored.

Points to an issue with steam’s built-in libraries.

A different runner could possibly have different built-in libraries and could resolve your issue.

Well dota2 runs here well

It might be easier to troubleshoot if you provide your
System info

inxi -Fxxxza

You might have different hardware problem

I tried different Steam runners, and they had pretty much the same results... Tried the native and the runtime one, and a lot of differente startup parameters, so idk what to do really

It do run well here also, but on other distros, no problem at all(As i did run today on another one), i'm reinstalling Garuda again, to see if i can provide you with the system info, and give it another try... The issue is just odd(And not having a answers anywhere on to why its just happening here is what kinda bothers me) :slightly_frowning_face: I've been testing since yesterday(From the system, to packages, to settings, to startup parameters on steam and the game itself), and unfortunely, i still dont know why exactly its happening

One of the distro Devs and creators was kind enough to respond to your help request

He requested your system specifications be posted.

Please read the Garuda Wiki entry on “Reporting bugs” for instructions on how to post your specifications in an acceptably formatted manner (no pictures).

You do not need to reinstall to provide this info. I am locking your thread until your system specs are provided. Edit your opening post to provide your system specs (no pics) and your thread will be reopened.

If you expect help on our forum you must be cooperative with the admins, moderators, and forum assistants by providing outputs when requested.
