I’m new to Garuda and in general with Hyperland. I’m not able to change the look of the file managers, both thunar and nautilus.
I have the latest update of Garuda Hyperland with the ml4w dotfile, I tried both from the gui app and by checking that the changes have been made in the setting.ini files (which I find a bit scattered around the system, both in its classic location in /usr/share/gtk-, and in the .ml4w-hyperland configuration files).
Problems that I can’t figure out:
Changing the look of my system, and where the actual configuration files are located
stuck accent, still having that overbearing purple and the inability to change the color parameters
I’m also confused by the fact that the icons and fonts can be changed without any problems.
I tried to search around a bit, but I didn’t find any solutions.
I think all you need is, search (or learn to search) much more.
If you change the look the maintainer offert than you are the new admin, do not ask for help.
And if you ask here, the minimum is, to post garuda-inxi.
Maybe you over read the template?
Bro/Siz, this is a self inflicted problem…, that you should probably learn to figure out on your own.
Maybe start out with the default Garuda-Hyprland config as you make your way through figuring out configurations.
You’ll find that garuda-hyprland dots try to ensure gtk themes are appied in different ways
by incorperating necessary settings like
In my experience the Garuda Hyprland setup performs the best with the Garuda Hyprland dots it is installed with. The only change decision should be whether or not to use the further advanced G-hyprland and perform your own edits yourself. Using pre-defined dots as a ‘shortcut’ does not help you learn Hyprland which is part of the fun.
Additionally, and I have the greatest respect for Stephan Raabe who produces the ML4W dots but his dots are meant to be installed on a virgin Arch Linux install not really one which already has its own dots and configuration.
So, the answer is, use Garuda Hyprland, G-hyprland and learn to dot yourself or use a new install of Arch and use ML4W.
Hmmm… my eyes didn’t caught this part, thanks for highlighting @Yada
@Malf the ml4w is not something that we are involved with , you will need to ask to the creator of ml4w
we can only assist you with our own dots because , we don’t know about how ml4w works and what is written in it , so please ask the creator/maintainer of ml4w for help .
