Problem with grub bootloader installation

I want to install garuda as a second os on my laptop
I have ssd 256 gb and hdd 1tb
I have windows on ssd
I created a freespace from hdd by taking aways 40 gb from it using disk manager
Now when i try to intall garuda gaming os it fails at the very end saying grub installation failed
Pls help

One common cause is that in Windows settings, you need to disable “Fast Startup”. Otherwise, Windows will leave the partitions marked as dirty and they will be marked Read Only.

I previously installed grub2win for an android os
But now i deleted it for this issue but even after deleting it this is not working

Did you go into Windows and disable “Fast Startup”?

It was already disabled

Is your system legacy booting or UEFI?

Uefi

Boot off the ISO and try to mount your EFI partition.

Check and see if it mounts read-only. If it does, repair it.

I have successfully installed the garuda linux with dual boot
But now i have new problems.
After my first boot the garuda assistant start updating some drivers and also updated the grub
Now when i boot garuda again i get this…

It is struck on this and not booting into linux

“We” don’t know how are the “settings” from your root + efi partitions.

  • Think on it, the efi partition must have flag “boot.” (handmade)
  • default is the size from the efi partition 300 mb + fat32
and 40gb for the system is ok but not much, think on it, you stay default on btrfs file system with snapshot function + “home/user” stuff.
If you need handmade partitions, the first partition on the hdd must be the efi (flag as boot), then the root partition (flag as root) + linux swap partition (if needed)
  • that’s all “gpt” not mbr modus
  • to install the iso (downloaded from the homepage)
    to read:
    Garuda Linux
    my mind for your install:
disconnect the sdd → start live iso over grub2 option use then the option boot with open source driver → start the partitionmanager → delete complete the hdd → use gpt modus → make the right settings for the efi partition (fat32 flag boot) → make the root partition with your preferred size as btrfs (flag root) + swap partition (if) → ok then reboot → once again the live iso start → open calamares and use by settings for the partitions “handmade” → if you have before the right settings done → you read no info from calameres about problems → rdy → install the os → done. Start garuda (disconnect pls the usb/dvd) and ? If you stay on your installed system pls post your garuda-inxi then.
