Problem during Cinnamon startup

Issue appeared today after an update on more than one PC.
Problem during Cinnamon startup.
Cinnamon started successfully, but one or more applets, desklets or extensions failed to load.

Check you system log and the Cinnamon LookingGlass log for any issues.

One system has been running for months with no issues and the other just installing today and did gaurda-updates directly after, with nothing else installed other than up first update, and got same message.
Not sure where to look for these logs.

Relevant software: snapper NetworkManager dracut nvidia-dkms
Windows dual boot: Probably (Run as root to verify)

Your garuda-inxi output is missing the last line.
That might be relevant. Or it might not. :grinning:

Sounds like an upstream problem.
Use last working snapshot, try next update in some days.
Before next update, make a fresh snapshot from your working DE and post the update log from garuda-update if that dos not fix the issue.

Last two lines, I didn’t think relevant, it’s usually just failed NAS mounts but then I saw the last item.

Here it is.:

Windows dual boot: Probably (Run as root to verify)
  Failed units: media-omvintel-storage.mount media-openmediavault-storage.mount systemd-sysctl.service

And where is Garuda-update log found?

One thing of note that may be it, looking at snapshots two standout as possibilities.
last three snapshots, but I think I rebooted a time or two.

Reboot is not a problem, standard are 10 snapshots. But, did you use Add/Remove Software (= pamac)?

At least, please, edit your last post until nobody answer to your last post, do not post like in a chat room.

do you notice the sound applet showing in your system tray? Also, if you go to open the sound applet from the system settings, does it launch?

jctl

or just start Whoogle you question

I’m getting this notice and it appears that it may be related to the sound applet. I noticed it missing after reboot. I’ve observed this one 3 separate machines, one freshly installed.

I’ve tried running the sound applet from the menu to no avail and have even tried to reload sound@cinnamon.org, also to no avail.

Can you please look into this?
