Printer icon doesn’t launch anything

Like it? Love it! I spent a good part of today reloading my main system. It was running Manjaro KDE with Hyprland with some custom touches from YouTuber. added on to it. Worked well, and i had KDE as a backup and their bundled software works well. But Garuda is way beyond that and 100% Hyprland. Only thing so far that doesn’t work is the printer icon doesn’t launch anything. Did it via CUPS web page so that’s all good

haha Good and bad to both approaches. I may move at least the keybindings out. I had an alias that would edit just that before. Made it quick and easy to update them.

Is the icon in the tray bar?
Bugs can then only be fixed by the developer.

Try installing the printer meta package from the Garuda Setup Assistant, then see if your printer thing works.

Sorry should have been clearer. I did install the meta package from assistant. In the Grauda menu there is a managing printer icon. Trying to launch that doesn’t do anything. But now that the printer is configured it works. It brings up the CUPS page on localhost.

Oh that’s weird. Even if it’s not running the app should still launch, with a window like this:

But now that the printer is configured it works. It brings up the CUPS page on localhost.

So, nothing to do.

Window comes up but I have no Printer Icon in tray, I start the app from dmenu.

Maybe after reboot.
