i have try to solve it but i can’t help me

Hello, this issue is currently being faced by many peoples ,
Try this :

sudo pacman -Rdd ppp

Then :

upd

It’s working , just a little bit of compilation process will be there :

And then reboot normally , if this doesn’t works then try this one :slightly_smiling_face: :

It’s not ppp that package is still working fine and required by network manager but networkmanager-fortisslvpn seems to have been orphaned. remove that.

sudo pacman -Rdd networkmanager-fortisslvpn
upd
cleanup

checked on my personal machine and all seems to work fine including browsers and vpn services.

IDK, the package isn’t installed in my machine the package isn’t shown orphaned in my machine but still showed the same error like others got for ppp :

 ╭─ankur@ankur in ~
 ╰─λ cleanup
[sudo] password for ankur:
error: no targets specified (use -h for help)

That’s why I directly removed ppp :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, networkmanager-fortisslvpn seems to have been previously been in the extra repos and has been removed that’s why everyone is getting this error. It was included by default with networkmanager-support a default garuda package.

That seems like a bad idea,

╰─λ pactree --reverse ppp

It got automatically installed during update , otherwise I would have addressed to install it again after update :slightly_smiling_face:

Here’s the error I’m getting:

Do I remove networkmanager-fortisslvpn or use the above method?

Hi @Colin, to resolve the upgrade issue you should remove networkmanager-fortisslvpn.

sudo pacman -R networkmanager-fortisslvpn

If it won’t let you because of dependencies, ignore the dependency checks by adding -dd.

sudo pacman -Rdd networkmanager-fortisslvpn

The other discussion that came up in this thread (about orphans) is kind of unrelated.

Thanks for the info. I had to use method #2 to solve the problem.

:relieved:

came here to say i got my update to go through by specifically upgrading PPP without dependency checks:
sudo pacman -Sdd ppp
