Plymouth still being used

I am seeing that plymouth-start.service is failing to start as a unit. Doing some search across Garuda forums, it seems to have been depreciated for a year as its shown not to be stable software.

However, it came preinstalled with my Garuda and continues to be updated? I uninstalled it via pacman and it rendered my desktop unusable.

It could be that this is due to plymouth remaining in your dracut configuration (just a quick idea).
If you have restored a snapshot, after uninstalling again try a:

sudo dracut-rebuild

If you remove software and then the system no longer boots, it probably wasn’t that unimportant, right?

Seems you must remove the splash screen.

splash quiet is already part of bootup kernel parameter string?

Disabled theme option via Garuda Boot Options, uninstalled Plymouth and ran sudo dracut-rebuild then rebooted. Works fine now.

Thanks
