Plasma weather widget issue

Hi guys,

I'm running an up-to-date Dr460nized Garuda. I've installed the plasma5-applets-weather-widget and added it to my panel. However, when trying to access the icon, it show's the following error message ...

file:///home/XXXXX/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.weatherWidget/contents/ui/main.qml:113:5:Type YrNo unavailable. file:///home/XXXXX/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.weatherWidget/contents/ui/providers/OpenWeatherMap.qml:18:1: module "QtQuick.XmlListModel" is not installed

I do have qt5-xmlpattens installed.

Thanks,
GM

Install it

The closest to it was ...

kqtquickcharts

Install & restart Plasma shell.

Tell me what I'm missing here ... the Plasma widget Weather Report. I've checked the widget search, the repos and the KDE Look store. I'm not noticing anything similar to plasma-widget-addons in the repo.

It's currently available in other Arch-based distros. I'm probably just overlooking it.

GM

Yes, my mistake, actually we do not have time to answer errors that do not concern Garuda and move the posts.
I will do it next time, maybe

Gotchya SGS. No worries.

SGS,

You marked the other Weather Report thread solved with a screenshot?

Can you be more specific about where you found the widget in Garuda Plasma ... I've downloaded Dragonized & Barebones on two seperate occasions & ran them both live. I don't find Weather Report in either the included widgets, downloadable widgets or the software repos.

GM

Ok, I just redownloaded Dragonized and noticed that the weather report widget is included by default.

If I decide to start a Barebones install ... could I export/import that widget from Dragonized to Barebones myself?

As nice as Dragonized is, I'd prefer to build up rather than tear down.

GM

Sorry,

Garuda Linux Barebones

Garuda Linux Barebones is made for users who do not want extra software and functionalities and complain about bloat. It contains only the bare minimum of packages needed to get started. (You are on your own, we dont provide any support for Barebones editions!)

That's fine SGS.

What I'm trying to point at is this ... the other vanilla Arch installers (Antergos, Reborn, Endeavor ... ) have all included that widget by default. So, if those installs are pulling Plasma directly from upstream ... shouldn't your barebones spin be typically similar?

If you're removing stuff on top of that before packaging for your spin, then that's fine. Maybe that's what I'm not wrapping my head around.

Certainly can install Dragonized to get a widget.

On Downloads:
There is also a vanilla version of KDE on the download page but it is at the bottom of that page. Took me awhile to find it. 'Weather Report' is included there. I just recheck and it is still there.

Scroll to the very bottom and you will find the 'Barebones KDE Edition'.

I think that is what you want. I had a hard time finding it.

Thanks gary.

Originally, I had a barebones KDE install. Live & install didn't have the Weather Report. So I just downloaded & installed Dragonized because it had the widget both live & on hardware.

I take your word for it, but I couldn't find it. Maybe there's a new barebones respin that includes it.

Dragonized is very nice ... I just like a minimal that includes what vanilla upstream should. The point I suggested to SGS is just that. Not sure if barebones is supposed to be = to the upstream Arch build or not.

At the end of the day, I had most of what I wanted in barebones. Had to spend just too much time dumbing down Dragonized.

But, we're there.

Just right click on desktop then click on edit mode. Next hover on the widget and remove.
