Plasma is crashing on external monitor

As stated above plasma shell keeps crashing on my device. It happens in every fresh boot to plasma wayland, whenever kwin wants to draw a popup. Strangely it only occurs when kwin tries to draw the window on my 2nd external display. It was fine before and only experiencing these crashes for past week. It doesn’t crash in the laptop display, only in the external one. I’m using garuda dragonised for nearly 2 years and the wayland one for past 8 or so months but didn’t had any issue. As my past install of garuda was heavily customized, I replaced it with the kde light one but same thing is happening here. I have tried the default arch kernel and the lts one but no luck. Oh and it only happens in the wayland session, X11 one is completely fine.

Here’s the inxi

With Wayland try using the kernel boot parameter
nvidia-drm.modeset=1
e.g. with:

sudo cp /etc/default/grub /etc/default/grub.bak && sudo sed '/^GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=/s/"$/ nvidia-drm.modeset=1 "/g' -i /etc/default/grub && sudo update-grub

It was set to that before i removed the nvidia drivers as the new driver was causing issues with sleep. So i removed the driver and and all nvidia related things to test if the sleep issue still persist or not as i have a hybrid gpu combo. But still having the crashes with plasma in wayland without the nvidia too.

Ok, maybe this explains why the driver is not loaded. Maybe the kernel driver is still blacklisted.

Maybe you could use the autoinstall free driver button in Garuda settings manager → HW configuration

I have reinstalled the dkms again as nouveau drivers doesn’t perform well in games. Now the driver loads on boot
