Hi, it's me again! I made a post on this before, but I think we all lost track of it and it's gone to the void, probably closed by now?
Sorry for making doubles : P

So, back then I wasn't sure this was a problem, but turns out it kinda is. Here is the message I'm getting on 90% of my package upgrades:

warning: directory permissions differ on /usr/share/
filesystem: 777 package: 755

If I remember well, I've checked my chmod and chown historys and both came blank for my sudo profile.

I had a few entries about some .sh files on my non-sudo profile for the chmod history, for when I was trying to run Houdini and stuff (all official linux versions on .sh installers btw, go figure)

And it must be the root of the problem (no pun intended :stuck_out_tongue:) because it was after unsuccessfully trying to install a handful of industry-standard apps such as houdini that I started to get these messages on my updates.

By unsuccessful I mean the scripts didn't ran through the end, reporting all sorts of "licensing" and "dependencies" errors that I ignored and moved along with my non-mainstream life.

REGARDLESS, I think my question is simple: how do I change my system back to my /usr/share being at tops 755 instead of being full blown at 777 permission?

Also, I don't know if this is the real question here, correct me if I'm wrong please : V
I have little idea on what might've cause the problem, let alone solve it.

Thanks in advance : 3

sudo chmod -R 755 /usr/share

If it is that simple xD
Thank you so so much, Bluish : 3

I'll definitely give it a read to see if I can figure out what I did wrong o7
