PCI soundcard not functioning after system update today

How can I get my PCI sound care (Creative Arts AE-5 Soundblaster) working? How to troubleshoot? I updated system today, and after the update, there is no output from my sound card. I have output from a bluetooth speaker. The sound card is visible in the list of devices in the menu bar dropdown upper corner of Garuda OS, not muted. Driver support for this card was apparently added to linux in the past, my card was automatically detected when in installed Garuda OS and worked flawlessly. Thanks.

I’ve tried the different “profiles” for the device: on “analogue stereo output” the device is listed as running, but no output. What is connected to the card is a two desktop speaker set plugged in the same output plug that was working before the update. Trying other profiles like “digital stereo output” etc did nothing either.

If I switch the desktop speakers to the audio jack on the Dell T5810 motherboard, there is sound (the speaker set works) and the output of pactl is:

I did reboot and nothing changed. I figured someone who understood better what the output of the information requests rendered would be able to see the issue.

We could save ourselves the many hints for restarting if we followed the template.
With KDE in particular, a restart often leads to success.

  • After rebooting, post the FULL output of garuda-inxi in the body of the post (not linked externally, or collapsed with the “hide details” feature)

Just like this.

  • Format terminal output (including your garuda-inxi) as a code block by clicking the preformatted text button (</>) , or put three tildes (~) above and below the text

Please, edit your posts for better reading.

I’m not sure what you would like me to “edit”, since as I can read the posts with my limited knowledge, it seems I have explained what my issue is in a series of texts with some terminal output to support what I am trying to say. Sorry if that is not coming across the way it should. Here is the garuda-inxi you asked for: I had thought that was the same as the system info from the helper. Sorry.

I rebooted a second time since update (full shut down to power off for <30 sec, not a restart), and that fixed the problem. The only difference was full power off rather than restart this second time. Not sure how that made a difference. Sorry for wasting your time. I do love the Garuda OS and promote it in my discord, YouTube, and with my friends, since I find the community and founder to be very responsive and helpful. Feel free to just delete the entire topic/post.
