Pc not mounting /sysroot after imprompt shutdown

Pc is failing to mount /sysroot after a improper shutdown due to it freezing during a game. After booting it up again I get stuck on this screen.
I can’t type in my password not the commands that’s been suggested, it allowes me to press enter tho but that’s about it.

ATM I sadly don’t have access to a laptop or USB stick that I can use so I can’t read the log it generates (hopefully tomorrow tho)
But I just wanted to give it a shot if anyone could have an idea what I could do in the meantime.

I’m really new to Linux and I still haven’t learned much on how to use it but I’d really appreciate any help if anyone would be willing to lend a hand ;v;

Use last working snapshot from grub.

An USB-Stick with Ventoy.net and Garuda live ISO on it could be an live and time saver.

thanks for the reply, i managed to get ahold of a pc and set up a live usb

heres the current sys logs i could get ahold of atm.
im kinda running blind into this and im gonna be fully honest and say its way over my head, i just want to recover some of the files on my internal ssd that has garuda installed on it. ill most likely switch os after this since this is sadly too much.

If you cant restore

Use live ISO to copy your files.

Enter your root password (the first password you used when you installed Garuda Linux by default) and press enter.

Then run btrfs rescue zero-log /dev/nvme0n1p2

After this, type exit in terminal as well. If everything went well, your system should now start normally again.

oh my god it worked i love you

will this happen again after rebooting and if so, how do i fix it?

This will not happen again unless your power goes out and your dice roll lands on a 6 during a full moon.

Sorry- I meant this will not happen again unless you get unlucky after another sudden poweroff event. You should learn how to REISUB your system in case a game freezes it up again, if you are unable to recover the system through other means (such as switching to a TTY).

lmao gotcha, but thank you so much for the help
its probably a no brainer solution but since im new as hell to linux it was confusing (someone else setup the whole thing for me)

Having a mentor is an invaluable advantage.
My old friend, who introduced me to Knoppix, unfortunately passed away far too early. Since then, I’ve been on my own.
But the hard road also has its advantages.

Thanks to this forum and the Arch Wiki, I haven’t had any significant problems for almost five years. /ot

im really sorry to hear about your loss, i hope you’re doing alright now

im trying to learn on my own via the wiki, reddit and forums in general (dealing with brainfog sadly and memory issues that makes it hard to learn and remember, but id rather try with linux than dealing with windows lmao)

As you get older, you get used to the fact that loved ones become fewer and fewer.

Thanks for your condolences
