Ownership Of a Folder (Disk) can not be changed (from 'root') by chown

Hi. So, I have found out (by trying to run some steam games installed there) one of my HDDs is locked behind a root ownership (no idea how THAT happened) and that I am unable to change that.

I tried the right-click menu (ownership to active user, and the ownership to… where I put shambhu:shambhu), I tried

sudo chown shambhu:shambhu /run/media/shambhu/Sirius
sudo chown -R shambhu:shambhu /run/media/shambhu/Sirius/
sudo chown -R shambhu:shambhu /run/media/shambhu/Sirius/Games

Sirius is the label of the disk. It is NTFS. I have other NTFS partitions and those are set to ‘shambhu:shambhu’ natively and work without a problem.
I tried to only change the Games folder ownership to no avail either.

It always acts as if it does the thing, but does nothing.

I tried unmounting and mounting it back (as read in some forum), with nothing changing.

Seems like a simple thing, but I am baffled here. Still a newb, obviously.

Any help appreciated.

EDIT: So, you have flagged this with the 412, huh. Really nice.

Not that the suggestion you so eloquently put out is THE EXACT THING I STATED TO TRY AND TO HAVE NO EFFECT.

You have just flooded it with useless “solutions” (to different issues from mine as I am able to mount and read from the disk) from 14 years ago and discarded it, huh?
Awesome job, well done.

The “solution” from the “answer”:

It was in ntfs so I could access from Windows too (fat32 is too slow). But I don’t have to worry about any more so I’m gonna reformat it.

I don’t know how to change the way it’s mounted with thunar-volman.

Next time try to read a bit slower, buddy…

Also, I did not MISS garuda-inxi. are you actually blind, or something? or just full of spite? smh.
