Openmw wont launch after .48 to .49 update

Hey all ran a update and went to play some Morrowind. I saw that my openwm got a update went to launch and no go. I freaked and rolled backed using snapper launched right away. Any tips on this would be great. Please only relevant post.

Hey there! Not sure what you’re aiming for with “Space_cowboy77” is that a username you want to use somewhere? Or are you referencing something else? Let me know what you’re thinking, and I’ll help however I can.

Take a look on your free space (only 9,3 %), you are on the limit.
delete (if possible) unused stuff. (example snapshots, cache folder, etc)

  • use garuda-rani or garuda-assistent
  • Folder /var/cache/pacman/pkg over konsole paccache -vrk2 or vrk3
(this command delete all packages except the last 2 from a package but think on the downgrade option if needed)

Think on a bios update if you have M$ installed, then it’s easy.
4 years old → current is from 2024
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/desktops-and-all-in-ones/thinkcentre-m-series-desktops/thinkcentre-m75s-1/downloads/driver-list/component?name=BIOS%2FUEFI&id=5AC6A815-321D-440E-8833-B07A93E0428C
Think on right settings,after.
(secure boot,fast boot, etc)

Thanks you for the pointers. What is M$ and how do I do a BIOS update? Thanks again.

its my screen name on this site as you can see for your self.

Is Micros. Windows installed ? (for me M$)
You download default a xxx.exe to update your bios file and for this you need windows 10/11 version or a handmade boot cd / usb boot stick to do this. With linux not so easy and if you are not familiar with this szenario → pls don’t do this.

just linux no dual boot. so how do i up date it. Im not going to install windows.

also none of this helps with my update issue with openmw the rest of my system works after the update. Im trying to run the up date and need to know why .49 wont launch not general system advice.

No knowledge about this game..sorry
only this → downgrade to .48 or use a snapshot
Gamers knows more about “games + settings” then myself

To bios update
downlaod the bios file and copy to usb (fat32)
download Hiren’s BootCD PE x64 → copy to ventoy stick
boot this iso → connect the usb stick and open the file with admin rights
(right click the file) → follow the steps → default this is all. Reboot → goto bios and make the right settings. Done!
But if you not familiar with this → think on it → on your own risk if you run in trouble.
