I was using tmux but now I have made a switch to zellij
It looks good, and already have everything that I need by default instead of configuring everything the way I had to in tmux
At first glance, it might just be the thing I need.
Why I might need this.
I use Tmux in my OS and podman/docker containers.
Having the same keybinds or modifying part of the keybind is driving me nuts.
Thanks
Yeah, you will have to do a little bit of remembering the keys
BTW, you can use the default tmux keybindings in zellij too
Well, i already had made transition and it just took me some minutes to get my hands on this thing.
BTW, I think if you have a well integrated tmux config then you donāt need to do it .
I didnāt had any good config , I mostly was using default keymaps, soā¦
BTW, why do you need that also ??
You are using tmux
Why doesnāt our current government just admit they want us to protect ourselves in anyway possible from the incoming TRASH?
I think immutable core is really the right choice for that distribution.
It is the perfect base for something they already kindof have.
The tuxedo os is currently based on kde neon and then delayed and tested by tuxedo.
Such a collaboration with good testing and then delivering a stable snapshot is what I would recommend to all my family and friends.
and then I know a few more who already run a immutable Arch linux via steam deck !
And donāt get me wrong I myself would always stay on something like garuda with self-compiled aur and testing repository enabled.
But I know how to fix stuff
Of the around 10 people I got to linux in the recent years ( ubuntu and kde neon ) not one of them wanted latest software. They all just want a running system and no change.
I have soo many fewer issues here on garuda than i do on windows. gotta babysit some win10 systems at workā¦ reinstalled the os 2 months ago, and 4 months previously. i really wonder what M$ is doing that windows is less stable than an arch-based distro
Old, inconsistent garbage dragged along with every new release?
donāt know, just find myself happy that i use linux EVERY TIME i have to touch a windows boxā¦ also makes me hate those (i never have issues with windows) idiots that conveniently forget that they JUST fixed an issue before typing that.
but this isnāt the place to rant about how bad windows is
one way that I look at my own transition to Linux is to compare it to a major yet necessity surgery where at first the recovery is rough and you question whether or not you made the right decision but once you get passed a rough patch then you wonder why you never switched ages ago (
Hello folks, happy Friday!
What would you consider as the best / most trustful IT news website or company?
I am trying to clean some crap RSS sources for my IT news (Worldwide) and curious about where / what you read?
I still like slashdot and techCrunch.
Have a nice day all, and still more kuddos to this great distrib we all love!
Thatās easy they rarely remove old code. YEP they have a nasty habit of just leaving dead code from previous updates and previous versions of the OS.
The thing is, I use alot of containers. So I wanted a way to decongest my environment.
i.e Two terminals all running with Tmux separately each containg like 5 more sessions open each with Tmux.
Now I think I will use zellij for my main terminal with 2 sessions and tmux for the containers.
Even I am confused by what I wrote, sorry if you donāt understand.
P.s: I have never used the original tmux config , watched a youtube video about tmux and ended up using that persons config for like 2 years now, although its heavily modified now for myself.
Hmmmā¦ An avaerage linux user running whole server in his laptop
I mostly start using things when I really need it .
I felt the use mutliplexer because, almost all of my workspace were filled with terminals opeened and running something all the time
and was really unorganized, then I started using multiplexer
Most of the time I start using things after I really feel the need of it .
Otherwise I am too lazy to do things .
I am also feeling to have immutable distro aside of garuda, and slowly shift my workspace there . (Garuda nix system is something I would like to try but, I feel like to start with vanilla nix )
So I would might slowly switch to Nix , before that I need to learn how to use Nix Flakes and home manager , without it , the real goal of switching will not get fulfilled
We have to find a way to survive with this terminals of ours. Thanks for the tip, its really working out well so far.
Other than just working it will give you a bit more feeling of hecker
Just keep it open in public
Is there no way to open the case to disable the contacts?
I would temporarily deactivate the side buttons from the outside.
The whole thing is surreal. I canāt imagine for the life of me why you would want to deactivate the side buttons on a PC mouse.
Perhaps you should train your fingers using the Bates method.
Okay, Bates was an ophthalmologist, but he certainly knew a thing or two about fingers too.
Iāve heard that can give you hairy palms, so Iām not sure he wants to overuse that method.
Oh dear, hair on your fingers only makes twitching gamer fingers even more sensitive. Well, it depends on the length of your hair, of course. Using scissors to free yourself from your mouse after a round of Minecraft was certainly not what Bates had in mind.
Can someone please move this to Off Topic & Nonsense?
Making fun of others but not being able to sense humor yourself
