My new um, "medical" device runs Android and communicates with all my other devices (phone, tablet, KDE Connect in Linux & Windows, etc.). It even recently had a successful firmware upgrade.
Works great as-is. I've decided I won't try Rooting it.
EDIT: I saw mention of "rooting" something, something in the forums earlier in the day. Well, I am the King of Unsuccessful Device Roots, so I thought I'd throw this out there as a warning to others.
Don't root expensive devices.
