Better a shitty desktop, than a Window in your house that is constantly having people peeping in on what your doing. ![]()
Dealing with the age old issue of centering the div on hyprland workspace moduleā¦
This is exactly why I hate web dev with my entire soul a thousand ways to do the same thing and none of them work⦠I mean I technically got it to work once by just duck typing and changing the padding-top to 5px but that stretched the waybar so much everything else started looking ugly. ![]()
I give up I will live with this I guess.
, Iāv been on writing my own eww config,/ finally dumping waybar
Same problems though. I feel you

WTF!! you havenāt shut it down for more than 2 days??
I know Hyprland is efficient but you should give some rest to battery of your laptop too I guess ![]()
When I was on windows I used to reboot my laptop after 30 or more days (because M$ and updates
). I just put my laptop on hibernate all the other times.
Here I reboot every kernel update so almost every week. My laptop is getting plenty of rest⦠If being rebooted to user space in 3s counts. ![]()
I really donāt understand what is fun to keep your laptop in sleep when you can turn it on with a flash!!! (I assume you have nvme)
Even though I have SSD I have no fun in doing such things
I like to shut it down completely when I am have no work , ![]()
Not sleep but hibernate. I put my laptop in hibernate. Except the times when I fall asleep with my laptop and leave it in sleep mode.
I know I can set a timer for the hibernate thing after sleep I am just lazy.
The reason why I hibernate is simple. I hate waiting. Thatās the entire reason windows irked me besides it occasionally crashing. I shifted to linux initially for stability. I didnāt actively look for ways to make my system faster since coming from windows I was already largely ok with the sytem boot up times. However when I found kernels that actually make my daily computing faster and garuda shifting to a better initrd generator was pretty much a deal seller for me.
I can get to my laptopās userspace in 3s and have all my apps open I donāt need to wait for them to load up thatās a pretty good thing for me. I donāt like to wait for my usual apps to open up the waiting time isnāt huge but it irks me very very much so.
This above is the exact reason I hate my work laptop as well. The only reason I am living with it is I need itās ciso vpn to connect to corporate network to do any work and that vpn connection is not something you can share over hotspot, I tried every guide out there to make it work it just doesnāt work out in the end.
This vpn uses a certificate to authenticate me to the vpn servers. I have located this certificate in my system however the private key associated with it is not exportable. Which means even if I have the certificate itās useless. I need both the cert and private key to use it on any other system.
I am quite close to just toss all legality in air and use mimikatz to examine and change memory bits and jail break the apiās responsible for the export operation in windows. However I know career exists and real world exists. I just leave that little shit on sleep forever no hibernate for it. I have deactivated itās auto hibernate feature.
Well, using windows in itself is a pain ![]()
my first windows of my life was windows 10 and havenāt used windows since 2017 in my personal laptop but it really use frustrate me in school computer lab ![]()
I can understand that nowā¦
The grace of late birth.
When I was in your age, there were no home computers, and the first ones you could pay for took so long to boot up that you could go and make yourself a coffee. Once that was ready, you could get started on your PC
![]()
I am really thankful we have reached a stage where computers can boot up in blink of an eye. If I was in your age I might have been driven insane by the wait times. Though I doubt I would have really been using computers in that era anyway.
Hah, that was only the initial delay. You wouldnāt believe how long it took early in the startup of the internet to load a webpage on dialup over your home phone line.
And, we also had to walk to school uphill in both directions barefoot in the snow. ![]()
Oh I know, I do. I watch YT videos of 8-bit guy and action retro in my spare time where they unbox commodoreās and macās of the era bygone and explore their intricacies.
You forgot the classic bear grylls survival where you had to fight a 20 foot python to reach school.
The world was a much simpler place, back when adding 1 MB of RAM doubled the amount of RAM on my IBM Mod. 30-286 desktop computer, and we had such classic games as Caveman Ughlympics, which featured an event called the Mate Toss, where you could āspin their wife/husband and try to throw them as far as they can.ā It was my first computer game. It came on 5-1/4" floppy discs.
I loved it, being the misogynist that I am.

Tbf that sounds like an interesting game.
I can understand why you would love it. ![]()
Is it just me or are some websites fingerprinting as to the point it does not matter weather you use a VPN, your location will always be known⦠just because you saved cookies to un unrelated third party
I hate web devs for ruining what radial buttons and check boxes are. Nothing should have check boxes as radial buttons but here we are. -.-
It is already given as an option in another way .
You need to keep Mod key pressed while doing left click on the border in default garuda Hyprland edition, for using mouse in that way ![]()
