That's true, there are many differences, I do add "a" at last while talking.
One interesting fact
Especially some character and sounds are not familiar to everyone.
Say the word "ಳ" (main difference in La - <ಳ,ळ > & la - <ಲ, ल>) many couldn't pronounce them correctly, and even some weird names in old languages.
