Wouldn’t matter to me now, my eyes are so bad that my little lady is starting to look good again.
LOL, sounds reasonable. I have to take my glasses off more often.
Coming soon: nwg-drawer
Once I mentioned, that I can no longer maintain nwg-launchers properly, and want to replace them with counterparts written in Go.
This is going to be a replacement to nwggrid
. It includes the search box, pinned apps, and application grid view, which you may filter by categories. The search function looks for installed programs, and also for files in xdg user directories.
No way to show it in action in a picture, so take a look at the movie, please.
You ever think of Garuda NWG nwg - A stunning new take on the Sway Window Mangaer shipping with the exceptional collection of nwg's products offering a different easier transition with easy to use and innovative applications
(That was just me complementing you - It's all true!! They are amazing!)
Well, the idea behind the shell is to give users freedom of choice what their UI looks like, similarly to what Zorin does. It could be 2 or 3 presets similar to well known interfaces, and easy to further adjustment. However, preparing a distribution like this is a task for someone, who's got some experience. What I can offer is support for the software the shell consists of, and adding some new features on demand, if necessary.
BTW: I don't care much of "nwg" in the shell name. The sooner someone comes up with a cool new name - the better.
SGS-Shell
LOL
Black-Shell, Dark-Shell, Fire-Shell, Dragon-Shell
(hacker’s and kiddies will love this names).
or
Cross-Shell.
I should start charging for my great work so I can buy my girlfriend the jewellery I made with Blender.
I like the name, hope you stick with it.
"Nwg" comes from the portal I used to run for 16 years in the nwg.pl domain. It no longer exists, but I still own the domain. I use "nwg" as my user name, since it's not yet taken on almost all forums in the world.
LOL! There’s a 3D printer somewhere in the office. I wonder if it still works…
Does it make 3D dolls? Inquiry minds want to know.
Hell knows. I remember seeing the Eiffel tower printed out.
Does aligning file search results to the left look well? I centered them at the beginning, but didn't like it...
I feel offended by this post
My slightly varnished opinion, you have a lot of wasted space, use more of it Maybe about 2 more results per both sides. Don't make it look crowded all the way to the border...but too much white space.
Yes, I think the results being left justified is probably best.
Hmmm... To display it in columns, I'd need two separate gtk.ListBox widgets, which would complicate the code quite a lot. Also in the picture file names are short, but in various search results long names appear as well.
That's what it looks like in GNOME:
As to long file names, I will vouch my opinion. Truncate them and show on mouse over the long names?
Just remember, opinions are like some other body parts, everyone has one (or two).
Btw, how many beers is this effort going to take (lol)?
I’ll stick to a single column, for code simplicity and performance. Got an idea on how to format all the stuff for it to look decently (I hope).
[edit] …or I may use another widget. I’ll try in the evening.
This must wait till Friday evening. I gave up on beer on weekdays long time ago.The only exception I make is while watching football (soccer), but European championship has not yet started.
