Nvidia modules deny listed

I am getting this error with nvidia not sure why or how to trouble shoot. I assume this has something to do with kde because of the “deny listed (by kmod)”. Any help would be appreciated?

deny-listed sounds a little bit like something was blacklisted.
You could check in /etc/modprobe.d/.
Maybe this was due to some “external” package like optimus-manager or bumblebee?

kmod is a toolset for managing kernel modules.
Which means filo’s advice to peek in the modprobe configuration is spot on. :slightly_smiling_face:

I do have optimus-manager which I have disabled… When I try to uninstall is with Pacman -Rns. The laptop uninstalls all nvidia drivers and then on reboot the system hangs. At that point I need to use a snapshot. I am so grateful for those snapshots!

I will re-enable the service and see what happens. Thanks for the advice. Crossing fingers.

Well I used garuda-update and rebooted. Then I enabled optimus-manager and rebooted. Also I have uninstalled msi_ec. but that still shows in the journal. I still have errors…

Well I was never able to solve this. I don’t know if this is because of optimus-manager. When ever I try to uninstall optimus-manager (i never use it), my laptop just gets a blank screen after update. Not a bad thing to live with, just some errors and a extra icon at the top, from what I can tell.

There is nothing /etc/modprobe.d/ that mentions nvidia anywhere.

I have tried to use below but still a blank screen.

sudo pacman -Rdd optimus-manager optimus-manager-qt garuda-optimus-manager-config
modprobe nvidia_uvm
modeprobe nvidia_drm
