NVIDIA Mobile GPU Power Reading Shows Absurd Value

Hi everyone,

I’ve been having some issues recently, sorry for posting again.
This time the problem is: nvidia-smi is reporting an absurd 752W power usage.

I have set the following environment variables for UWSM:

export LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=nvidia
export __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia
export __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1
export GBM_BACKEND=nvidia-drm

… Even after unsetting these variables, nvidia-smi still shows the same incorrect power reading.

✅ System health check passed. No issues found.

This seems like a hardware and not a software issue according to a cursory internet search.

I recommend referring this GPU to your manufacturer’s warranty department.

Since, according to garuda-inxi, you have a windows installation as well, use Windows to confirm if the reading is the same.
